Nathalia Veit - Human Resources (Brazil)

File_014.jpeg

Hi everyone! I am Nathalia, originally from Brazil. I have lived in China for 18 years before moving to Brisbane in 2017. I come from a multi-cultural family and grew up speaking 5 languages. I have just completed a bachelor's degree in business management and another bachelor's degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management both from The University of Queensland. Previous to Australian Internships, I have interned in the Embassy of Mexico in Canberra and spent the last 3 years working in the hospitality industry mainly in the James St Precinct in Brisbane. I look forward to what the future brings and hope to gain knowledge, skills and practice in the Human Resources industry.

How would you describe your work?

As an intern, I try to learn, observe and contribute as much as I can to the company. My tasks vary from generating the weekly internal employee newsletter to scheduling and organizing internal training sessions. Aside from this, I was given the chance to get some hands-on experience conducting an exit interview for one of the employees who has left the company.

What do you like most about your work?

Given the opportunity to join Australian Internships as a Human Resources intern, I like the work ambience, environment and colleagues. Everyone is very friendly, welcoming and kind. We have people from over all over the world in the office and every day for me is an opportunity to learn things from different cultures.

Your message to the interns

I wish everyone the best of luck and enter the company with an open mind and try to gain as much as you can.
