Sofia Moromizato - Marketing (Brazil)

Why did you choose to complete an Internship?

I chose to complete an internship in Australia because I thought it would be the faster way to find a job in my field. Apart from gaining practical experience, I would be able to build strong industry connections, which would be valuable for my journey. Additionally, this would be a great advantage on my resume as I'm still in my first semester of university.

What have you learned the most during your internship?

During my internship, I was able to improve many skills I already had, especially the ones regarding social media. Moreover, I gained practical experience doing tasks I didn't have any affinity for, which was extremally important for my professional growth. I also had the opportunity to understand Australia's work environment and how I can beneficiate from that to achieve my career goals.

What benefits do you feel Australian Internships contributed to your internship?

Australian Internships definitively contributed to starting my career in Australia. Besides trusting in my potential, they carefully guided me through this internship, always making sure I was happy and focused on the tasks I wanted to perform. Niwra (Marketing Specialist) and Debora (Project Manager) were vital in the process, supporting and encouraging me to do my best. I couldn't be more grateful and honoured to have worked with them.

What advice would you give future interns regarding internships?

I would probably tell interns to get out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves as much as possible. Be curious, open, proactive and communicative so that you will definitively get the most out of this experience.

What do you enjoy most about Australia?

Besides the weather, which is pretty similar to Brazil (my home country), and all the incredible landscapes Australia has to offer, I feel the country has good energy. I feel people are polite, respectful and kind. The huge diversity makes me feel comfortable and excited to learn more about cultures other than my own.
