Paulo Carsula - Accounting (Philippines)

Why did you choose to complete an Internship?

I chose to complete an internship in order to gain professional experience as it is very essential and poses as a building block for every student especially in Australia where local experience is highly significant to get into desired careers. It will also build my confidence once I step out into the business world and is a foundation for me to be accustomed to understanding the roles and tasks of my future career.

What have you learned the most during your internship?

What I learned most during my internship is having a professional mindset of how to manage tasks given to me where everything that I am doing must always be accurate and precise as Accounting is very critical. Also, having a high sense of communication with team members and my supervisor is a key for effective and efficient work.

What benefits do you feel AI contributed to your internship and time in Australia?

AI has helped me find an internship that is suitable for my skills where they’ve never stopped assisting me until I got hired. I am very grateful and helpful for their neverending support.

What advice would you give future interns?

My advice for future interns is to never give up despite not getting hired at first as it is normal and can happen to everyone. During their time in the internship, one must be attentive at all times and remember to take note of everything that is taught by their team leaders or supervisors as this will help them be more efficient in their work and given a chance, impress your manager as they can see your eagerness to learn and your enthusiasm to work hard.

What do you enjoy most about Australia?

What I enjoy the most is exploring the various iconic sceneries Australia is known for such as Kiama blowhole, Long Jetty wharf, Snowy Mountains, Bondi Beach, and doing coastal walks, etc. Spontaneous trips have always been a favorite hobby of mine and Australia has so far provided the most memorable experiences.
