Nirajan Aryal - IT Software Development (Nepal)

Why did you choose to complete an Internship?

I was one trimester away from my Bachelor's degree, I started looking for a job in my own studied field but whenever I see some vacancies it says they are looking for at least 1-2 years of working experience in the respective field, which freshers (like me) don't have. So, the best option was to do an internship in a related field and gain real work experience, knowledge, and people network which can help me for a job hut in the future.

What have you learned the most during your internship?

There is always something to learn and improve. I learned and improved in Coding complex syntax, analyzing website data, and implement code in a group.

I am doing my internship from home. some people might find this hard because you feel lazy and if you don't know how to solve some problem you feel lost so, communication with your company supervisor is very important. If I struggle with my task I just communicate with the team and ask for help. there is nothing wrong with asking because we are here to learn. Since I am doing an internship from home self-motivation, self-discipline, and time management count. if you neglect and misuse the opportunity thinking there is no one to see what you are doing, the purpose for an internship will be nothing and you will be just wasting your time so, self-motivation and hunger for the goal are needed.

What benefits do you feel AI contributed to your internship and time in Australia?

It makes sure the host company is doing their best from their side like creating a healthy working environment and we are also doing our best from our side by completing weekly learning plans and surveys. Also with following up with each intern when needed.

What advice would you give a future intern?

Always remember why you are here. Utilize the time that you have and gain as much knowledge as you can. Try to know all the employees if possible which will help you to build a people network which might be fruitful in the future to get a job. lastly, never give up and a do attitude is crucial especially if you are doing an internship remotely.

What do you enjoy most about Australia?

Well, the beach is the most I have enjoyed since I am from a landlocked country Nepal and we don't have any. Also, the people here are friendly and helpful. If you are in a big city like Sydney you will enjoy the diversity of people.
