Teamwork is an interpersonal skill employers and recruiters are always looking for regardless of the role. It's one of the so-called soft skills or professional skills, essential competencies to succeed in a work environment. In summary, teamwork means that an individual is cooperative and works well with others.

To be a team player the individual needs to feel part of the team, be genuinely involved in the team's performance, demonstrate empathy, respect others opinions and differences, and be happy sharing knowledge and helping colleagues. It's about building positive and healthy working relationships that helps everyone to achieve personal goals. Therefore, business outcomes depend on positive relationships among employees and their willingness to collaborate and support each other.

Communication is also essential to establish good teamwork whether in the daily basis activities, in a meeting or specific project. So employees need to find a way to develop this ability, considering the company culture. Another value which is very appreciated among team players is trust, which is built from honest attitude and transparency especially in hard situations such as when you are not sure about something, are having difficulty to execute a certain task or won’t be able to deliver on time.

During your internship, you will have an opportunity to develop your teamwork skills. You will be trained to take responsibility, expose your opinion, support and listen to other team members. The relationships you make will be important to build your network and get future recommendations. When you work in a team, you grow as an individual.
