In June 2015, THI Australia launched its flagship Australian Internship Program to provide work and training opportunities for Greek graduates facing unprecedented unemployment in Greece.

THI Australia has partnered with more than 20 Australian companies to offer six-month paid internship positions, which represents an investment in Greece’s youth of $1.5 million. Interns receive training and mentoring, develop new skills and then return to Greece with new mindsets and capabilities based on their Australian workplace experience.

Participating companies include major Australian banks ANZ and NAB, and placements are spread across Australia in a variety of industries, from engineering to IT.

The first eight graduates began their internships in February 2016, working in companies in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. To date, 16 interns from Greece have been placed in Australian companies.

The Australian Internship Program is working in partnership with the groundbreaking ReGeneration program in Greece to select candidates for the Australian positions.

A champagne breakfast was held on Tuesday 20th February 2018 at Australian Internships HQ in Milton, Brisbane and it was a great success! It was filled with fantastic guests, a Didgeridoo player, key note speakers from the industry, delicious food and celebration of lots of great memories in the last 20 years!

Australian Internships Announced Finalist for the 2015 Premier of Queensland Export Awards. 

Australian Internships (AI)  is pleased to announce that we are a finalist for the “2015 Premier of Queensland Export Awards.”  The winner will be announced on October 7thduring the awards presentation dinner at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.  

AI is a finalist in the Education and Training category. This categoryis for organisations who have demonstrated outstanding innovation and international success in the field of education and training services, expertise and curriculum including vocational training.

Receiving an Export Award is the highest recognition of exporting achievement and is well regarded amongst export industry peers. The Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards acknowledge the important contribution that Queensland exporting businesses make to the state’s economy through job creation and increased prosperity in the community. The awards are open to all exporters that meet the eligibility criteria, regardless of the sector.
