Noah Reape - Marketing (USA)Why did you choose to complete an internship? My university (Drexel) back in the states is not your standard 4-year university with 2 semesters each year. It is a 5-year university built in with 6-month co-operative education opportunities in the form of working internships in our specified field of study. As this past spring and current summer was my 3rd and final co-op cycle, I wanted to do something different and challenge myself in new ways by deciding to do my final cycle abroad in Ireland for the spring and here in Melbourne for the summer. What have you learned the most during your internship? I have worked on an array of projects in the past few weeks mostly with website mockups and updates as well as contributing articles. I have learned the most about creating ads and campaigns with digital marketing tools such as google adwords and analyzing company website statistics. What benefits do you feel AI contributed to your internship and time in Australia? Australian Internships was helpful every step of the way in the process leading up to coming here. Consistent contact was very helpful and I didn’t feel at any point in the process leading up that I wasn’t “in the know”. What have you enjoyed the most during your internship? I enjoy how different it is and how it’s not that different at the same time. There are quite a few similarities of big city living here and back in Philadelphia in the states as well. What advice you would offer someone considering interning abroad in Australia? My advice for future interns is to get out and explore the city you are in as much as you can on the weekends. Here in Melbourne, it is super easy to navigate around anywhere via train, tram or just walking.

Megan Mackenzie - Public Relations (USA)"My adventure in Australia was one that I will always remember. My internship placement could not have been better as I was placed in the middle of the Circular Quay in between the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. I did this program because of the real world experience it would give me, and it did, but it also brought me some of my best friends in Sydney who made me feel so much more at home. Some of my favorite things I did down under were snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, doing a caravan roadtrip down the East Coast, spending 4 days in Melbourne, and going surfing at Bondi Beach. None of these memories would be what they were without the people I met in Australia. Australians are truely one of a kind and I am so glad they let me explore their home! If you are wondering whether or not this program is for you, take a risk and go for it. Cheers mate! |
YUI ISHIDA - Marketing (japan)"In this internship program I learned basic digital marketing such as writing blogs, creating landing pages and SEO. You can learn how to be a better person. How to be positive and easy-going all the time, which is good especially when you get stressed with work. My advice for future interns is: prepare to learn a lot! Take action from what you learn. Do everything you can. Don't hesitate to ask." |
Vincenzo - Marketing (Italy)"My internship has given me the opportunity to travel and build my professional experience and network at the same time. I think I made the right choice working for one of the international leaders in the hospitality industry." |
YU NA LEE - MARKETING (KOREA)"I completed an internship at an English College for three months in Brisbane. For future interns who want to intern in Australia, I want to say do not be afraid of asking something you don’t know, and check if you understand. Your co-workers understand your mistakes and they are generous, asking and checking is the most important thing to reduce your mistakes."
